Examination & Preventative Medicine
We believe strongly in preventive care, so we have developed wellness protocols for every stage of your pet’s life.
Since pets can’t vocalize how they feel, illness or disease may be present before you are aware of symptoms. Early detection allows time for steps to be taken to manage or correct a problem before irreversible damage occurs.
What to Expect
Our veterinary team will start during a wellness exam by taking your pet’s vital signs which include temperature, pulse, respiration and body condition.
Typically, your veterinarian will ask for a complete history of your pet’s health, including eating habits and diet, exercise, unusual behaviour, etc., and do a comprehensive examination.
We may also perform diagnostic tests such as:
- blood work
- intestinal parasite tests
Vaccines may be administered (depending on your pet’s life stage and lifestyle).
Additionally, disease screenings (heartworm, kidney, liver, blood disorders, etc.) may be recommended, depending on your pet’s health.
Regular wellness exams are one of the best ways that you can help your pet live a long, happy and healthy life.
